May Monthly Meeting, Saturday, May 14, 6 p.m. Potluck dinner. 7 p.m. Speaker
- Speaker is Hans Frischeisen. This is a slide show we have not seen. He did this trip in the 1990s and the slide show is with real color slides from 35mm film. Kayaking from Central Canada to the Arctic Ocean.
- “Though I had biked a few hundred miles south and north of Las Vegas, where I lived at the time, this kayak trip was the first major adventure on my five non-motorized circumvention of the earth. For this trip my son Mark, then 11 years old, and I used a Klepper foldable kayak. At a length of 17' it seats 2 people and holds a large amount of camping gear and food supplies. We left Ft. Nelson in BC on the Musqua River on the 29th of June, continued on the Ft. Nelson River, joined the Liard and Mackenzie and reached the Arctic Ocean on 7/29. Beyond these statistics lie a great adventure and a wonderful bonding experience.”
- Hostess: Loren MacArthur. Location: call Loren for directions.

- Really great Asian food with many selections. http://www.cjpalace.com/
